Pilgrims Hospice
Ackard staff have volunteered their time in doing much needed maintenance and repair at the hospice as well as supplying needed upgrades to the kitchen facilities. On an ongoing partnership with Pilgrims Hospice, Ackard continues to contribute to the Hospice Annual Gala both in live auction items and furnishing the wine for the dinner.
Sawatzky/ Samaritan Foundation
Ackard has an ongoing partnership with the Sawatzky/Samaritan Foundation which involves financial donations, fund raising and giving of their personal time to build houses in the Dominican Republic on a yearly mission. Donated clothing, medicine, and miscellaneous items are also collected and brought out. This year’s fund raising so far has involved Ackard staff offering a service to pick up and dispose of household junk.
Canadian Volunteers for International Development Society
Ackard has given of their time to prepare and host multiple evenings highlighting a one of a kind dining experience featuring a wood fired dinner auctioned at the CVIDS annual fund raiser live auction. These doctors provide medicines and surgery. The organization supports an orphanage with food and basic needs along with supporting “day cares” in Ecuador. Funds donated are also sent to India for an orphanage. Money is raised to build houses for seniors and a school has been built.
